Roles & Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy and light vehicles, adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies to ensure timely deliveries.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to guarantee vehicle safety and reliability before each trip.
- Accurately navigate routes using GPS and maps, optimizing travel time and fuel efficiency for efficient service delivery.
- Load and unload cargo according to safety protocols, ensuring items are secured and protected during transit.
- Complete delivery paperwork and maintain accurate logs of mileage and fuel consumption to meet regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to provide updates on delivery status and address any issues that arise.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal transportation laws while maintaining a clean driving record to uphold company standards.
- Manage time efficiently to meet delivery schedules, balancing multiple tasks while prioritizing safety and compliance.
- Assist in training new drivers on company policies, safety protocols, and efficient driving techniques to promote a safe work environment.
- Contribute to a team-oriented atmosphere by collaborating with colleagues and supporting operational needs as necessary.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Valid heavy and light vehicle driving licenses with a clean driving record; relevant certifications enhance candidacy.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in logistics or transportation management is a plus.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance protocols, enabling proactive identification of potential issues to prevent breakdowns.
- Strong navigation skills using various tools, ensuring efficient route planning and adherence to timelines.
