Job Summary
The Driver & Desk Handler supports daily rent-a-car operations by handling vehicle movement, customer service at the desk, and basic administrative tasks. The role requires safe driving, excellent customer interaction, and coordination between customers, fleet, and management to ensure smooth rental operations.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Fleet Handling
- Drive rental vehicles for customer pick-up, drop-off, delivery, and recovery.
- Transfer vehicles between branches, garages, and customer locations.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, fuelled, and ready for rental.
- Report accidents, damages, or mechanical issues immediately.
- Follow UAE traffic laws and company safety policies at all times.
Desk & Customer Handling
- Assist customers at the front desk with vehicle handover and return process.
- Prepare and verify rental agreements, delivery notes, and vehicle condition reports.
- Update vehicle status in the rental system (available, rented, maintenance).
- Handle customer queries, complaints, and basic booking coordination.
- Coordinate with drivers, workshop, and cleaning staff.
- Collect documents (Emirates ID, passport, driving license) as per company policy.
Administrative & Support Tasks
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle movement and daily logs.
- Assist in basic billing, invoice preparation, and payment follow-ups if required.
- Support fleet scheduling and daily operation planning.
- Ensure compliance with RTA, insurance, and company procedures.
- Perform other operational duties as assigned by management.
Skills & Qualifications
Mandatory
- Previous experience as a driver or rent-a-car operations staff Advantage.
- Basic computer knowledge (email, rental system, Excel preferred).
- Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
- Customer-service-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure and flexible hours.
Preferred
- Experience in rent-a-car or automotive industry.
- Knowledge of UAE roads and locations.
- Basic understanding of vehicle inspection and damage reporting.
