  • POST ADVERT: CHAUFFEUR (FULL TIME) SA EMBASSY, ABU DHABI

Requirements:

  • Qualifications and Educational:· A minimum of a High School Certificate / diploma or equivalent qualification.·
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a chauffeur (three of these years should have been spent driving a high-level person).·
  • Proficiency in English.·
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.Job Specific Competencies:· Proficiency in English (read, write & speak)·
  • Ability to work under pressure·
  • Honesty and Reliability·
  • Knowledge of city locations·
  • Know and understand defensive driving·
  • Effective time management·
  • Must understand protocol and diplomatic courtesies.·
  • Familiarity with local traffic laws and regulations

    Duties:
  • Operate a vehicle to transport the Ambassador & visitors around Abu Dhabi and other regions within the UAE.·
  • Plan the Ambassador’s daily calendar and estimate driving times to ensure promptness when transporting the Ambassador and other distinguished guests to meetings and events.·
  • Act as messenger in delivering important documents, correspondence, and invitations.·
  • Perform official errands with the Ambassador’s household on behalf of the mission.·
  • Serve as back-up to regular Mission’s operations as and when required during heavy workloads and staffing gaps.·
  • Communicate effectively with the Ambassador and the Social Secretary to coordinate all travels.·
  • Be responsible for the safety and security of the Ambassador by ensuring the shortest and safest routes under any prevailing circumstances.·
  • Perform daily checks on tires, oil, fuel, water, battery as well as washing and cleaning of the car.·
  • Keep vehicle operational record on mileage, oil and fuel purchases.·
  • Be prepared to work overtime, including weekends and public holidays as and when required.

    Additional Selection Criteria:

  • The candidate should be in Abu Dhabi on a valid Visa or UAE residency permit during application, interview and appointment (The Embassy does not pay any travel and/or relocation allowances to any potential candidate of the post)
  • It is the responsibility of the candidate to convert any foreign licence to a local license (should the candidate be selected for employment).
