Company Driver Responsibilities
- Safe Vehicle Operation
- Operate company vehicles in a safe and responsible manner at all times.
- Follow all traffic laws, regulations, and company driving policies.
- Timely Deliveries
- Ensure on-time delivery and pickup of goods or passengers as assigned.
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules.
- Vehicle Maintenance
- Perform daily vehicle inspections (tires, brakes, lights, fluids, etc.).
- Report any mechanical issues or damages immediately.
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable, both inside and out.
- Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel use, and other trip-related documentation.
- Ensure all required delivery or transport documentation is properly completed.
- Customer Service
- Represent the company professionally while interacting with clients, vendors, or the public.
- Handle complaints or delivery issues courteously and report them to supervisors.
- Compliance
- Comply with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and any other applicable federal or state laws.
- Adhere to company policies regarding drug testing, hours of service, and safety protocols.
- Communication
- Maintain regular communication with dispatch or management regarding schedules, delays, or issues.
- Use company-provided communication tools responsibly and efficiently.
- Security
- Ensure that all cargo is properly secured to prevent damage or loss.
- Follow company procedures for securing vehicles and cargo during stops or overnight.
- Professional Conduct
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Refrain from using alcohol, illegal substances, or any impairing medication while on duty.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Assist with loading and unloading, if required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
